Decent quality, but stray hairs

I've never tried a mascara brush before--I decided to give this one a shot, since I've heard a lot of great things about Royal and Langnickel brushes. A little disappointed, as there were stray hairs that weren't trimmed (visible in the packaging before I even opened it). The handle is very good quality, but I've only used it a couple times so I can't comment on performance yet. I'm still learning how to use it properly.
